Jack Atkins has a unique combination of education and hands on experience not only in the practice of law, but the management of a construction business. He is a former licensed general contractor and owner of Premier Homes of Crossville. From 1992 to 2008, Jack built over 200 residential projects in addition to developing three residential communities in Hendersonville and Crossville. He was recognized by the National Association of Home Builders as a Certified Graduate Builder and a Graduate Master Builder. In 2002, Jack was honored to serve as President of the Home Builders Association of Cumberland County.
After his graduation from law school at the University of Tennessee in 1984, Jack had a general practice of law in Crossville until entering the construction field. In 2008, he once again took up the practice of law, focusing on construction related clients and cases. Jack represents builders, sub-contractors, material suppliers as well as home and project owners. He also assists business owners with organization (corporation, LLC, partnership), contract issues, account collections and their personal legal needs.
Jack represents clients in litigation involving construction contract and construction defect issues, as well as disputes over real estate transactions. Additionally, Jack represents clients in consumer transaction litigation. Also, he has training and experience in construction dispute mediation and arbitration.
With first hand experience of the busy schedules business owners keep, and the usual need to personally inspect construction in most cases, Jack goes to where his clients are to meet and discuss their legal issues.
